Proven, Step-By-Step Process
The first step to the design process with Red Sun is to set up an initial consultation. The initial consultation costs $150-$200 depending on your location, and goes towards the design cost when we choose to work together. Designs start at $2000.00 and go up based on size and complexities of the project.
A questionnaire will be sent to you prior to our first meeting. The questionnaire walks you through the elements of a design, guides you to visualize your property, and evaluate the design goals.
The first visit, is spent getting to know you and your family. We will find out what needs and objectives you have and how they can best be met with your new landscape. While we are walking the property, we will be elaborating on ideas for your property and evaluating the condition of the soil and existing plants. We will also identify any drainage problems you might have.
By the end of the first visit, you will have a good understanding of the new layout for your landscape. We will give you a price for the design that includes two follow up meetings. To get started on the design, we collect a deposit, take photographs, and detailed measurements of your property.
On our second visit, we will have a layout of the design. The layout will contain the shapes and sizes of the beds, walkways and patio areas. We make any necessary adjustments to the design at this meeting. Once you are satisfied with the layout of your new landscape then we proceed with designing the plant material.
On the third visit, the plant design is presented to you and we walk you through all the plant material that is in your design. We can make substitutions for any plants that you don’t like. At this stage, we can talk about what areas of the landscape that you want to have installed by a professional and set you up with a landscape company that provides a detailed bid for implementing the project.
Once the design is finalized, you will receive black lined copies of the design, a plant list, and a landscape care guide.
