A questionnaire will be sent to you prior to our first meeting. The questionnaire walks you through the elements of a design, guides you to visualize your property, and evaluate the design goals for your yard.
The first visit is spent getting to know you and your family. We will find out what needs and objectives you have and how they can best be met with your new landscape. While we are walking the property we will be elaborating on ideas for your property and evaluating the condition of the soil and existing plants. We will also identify any drainage problems you might have.
By the end of the first visit, you will have a good understanding of the new layout for your landscape. We will give you an estimate of what the design is going to cost and before we leave we will take photographs and detailed measurements of the property.
On our second visit, we will have a layout of the design. The layout will contain the shapes and sizes of the beds, walkways and patio areas. Once you are satisfied with the layout of your new landscape then we proceed with designing in the plant material.
On the third visit, the final design is presented to you and we walk you through all the plant material that is in your design. We can make substitutions for any plants that you don’t like. At this stage, we can talk about what areas of the landscape that you want to have installed by a professional.
Once the design is finalized you will receive black lined copies of the design, a plant list, and landscape care guide.

Q: Why do I need a landscape design?
In order to accurately bid your project, accuracy and efficiency during the installation phase and to ensure the long-term success of your investment, a well- researched design is integral to your project’s success.
Q: How much does it cost for a landscape design?
Design services are billed at $65 per hour. A master landscape design for a front and back yard can cost $750 or more. It all depends on the research and consultation time required and the complexities involved.
Q: How long does the design process take?
The design process generally takes an average of three to four weeks.
Q: What is the difference between a Consultation and a Design?
A Consultation is a 2 hour meeting where we provide you with verbal information about your landscape. A Design is a scaled drawing of your entire landscape complete with the type and number of plants needed for each flower bed, all specific hardscape items (walkways, playscapes, patios), the exact square footage of all design elements, and a breakdown of needed materials.
